Sustainability Certification & Reporting

Independent, credible assessments and decision-useful reporting aligned to globally recognised frameworks—delivered with impartiality and technical rigor.

1) Sustainable Tourism Certification Recognised by GSTC

Sustainable tourism certification is provided in line with criteria recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). Within this scope, assessments are conducted for tourism facilities, travel agencies and destinations based on environmental, social, cultural and economic sustainability criteria. The certification process enables businesses to demonstrate conformance with internationally accepted sustainability standards and to gain a strong competitive advantage in the market.

With a GSTC certificate, businesses can:

  • Reduce their environmental impacts,
  • Build strong ties with local communities,
  • Contribute to the protection of cultural heritage,
  • Gain international visibility in the field of sustainable tourism.

Acting with principles of impartiality and reliability, Aqrocert provides GSTC-approved sustainable tourism certification for businesses operating in the tourism sector.

Carbon footprint reporting

2) Corporate Carbon Footprint Calculation and Reporting Service

The calculation and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions play an important role in environmental sustainability and in combating climate change. Emissions calculation involves identifying the amounts of carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), nitrous oxides (N₂O) and other greenhouse gases arising from an organisation’s activities. This process covers the identification of emission sources, measurement and data collection.

Direct emissions arise from sources under the control of the organisation (e.g., combustion of fossil fuels in facilities), while indirect emissions originate from sources outside its control, such as electricity consumption. Calculations are generally based on international standards such as the IPCC guidelines, the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064.

The reporting of greenhouse gas emissions involves documenting the calculated emission data in a regular and transparent manner and presenting it to relevant stakeholders. These reports help organisations monitor their environmental performance, reach sustainability targets and comply with legal regulations. Reporting also provides transparency and accountability to the public and investors. Organisations may share emission data via annual reports, sustainability reports or dedicated greenhouse gas reports. An effective reporting process supports the development of emission-reduction strategies, improvement of energy efficiency and reduction of overall environmental impacts.

For your company, we establish your greenhouse gas inventory system in line with TS EN ISO 14064-1:2019 and the GHG Protocol by identifying emission sources, selecting and consolidating activity data, documenting the inventory management procedure, and conducting uncertainty analyses and materiality assessments.

3) Water Footprint Calculation and Reporting Service

Water footprint calculation is carried out to determine an organisation’s or product’s total water consumption and the environmental impacts related to water use. This includes both direct water consumption (e.g., water used in production processes) and indirect water consumption (e.g., water used across the supply chain). The water footprint is divided into three main components: Blue water (use of surface and groundwater), Green water (use of soil moisture and rainwater), and Grey water (the volume of water required to assimilate pollution). Taking these components into account, the water footprint is comprehensively calculated and the environmental impacts related to water use are quantified for the organisation or product.

Water footprint reporting is the process of documenting the calculated footprint and sharing it with relevant stakeholders. These reports present your company’s water consumption, water-related environmental impacts, and progress toward sustainability targets in detail. Reporting provides the information needed to improve water management strategies, achieve water savings and use water resources more efficiently. It also demonstrates transparently that your company fulfils its environmental responsibilities and its commitments regarding water management. Such reports are an important communication tool for both internal and external stakeholders and support your sustainability efforts.

To help organisations effectively monitor and manage water use, we perform Blue, Green and Grey Water Footprint calculation and reporting services.

Sustainability reporting

4) Sustainability Reporting Service

Businesses conduct sustainability reporting to document in detail their environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance and present it to stakeholders. This report transparently sets out the steps taken toward sustainability goals, the results achieved and plans for the future. Sustainability strategy reports with Aqrocert are used to demonstrate a company’s commitment and achievements in reducing environmental impacts, fulfilling social responsibilities, and elevating governance standards—so stakeholders have comprehensive and reliable information about performance.

In this context, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards enable companies to report their sustainability performance against globally recognized criteria. GRI helps organisations present environmental and social impacts in detail and share this information effectively with stakeholders—making sustainability efforts more transparent and accountable.

In addition, within the framework of the Türkiye Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS), the standards TSRS-S1 and TSRS-S2 apply: TSRS-S1 evaluates overall sustainability performance, while TSRS-S2 specifically addresses social performance. These standards help organisations track and report progress toward sustainability goals, enabling them to share reliable and up-to-date information with stakeholders.

We provide reporting services in accordance with GRI, TSRS-S1 and TSRS-S2 so your organisation can evaluate sustainability performance and inform stakeholders effectively.
